William Coffin & Freedom Riders William Sloane Coffin, a group leader in Operation Crossroads Africa. He was also chaplin at Yale University, and helped organize freedom rides and voters registration events in the 1960s. Dr. Barbara Callaway was one of the students who helped register voters in Mississippi. This photo was taken in 1961.
